All WoodenChess.com products are made of original Indonesian teak — naturally water-resistant and prized for generations in fine outdoor furniture.

Teak wood, and Indonesian teak in particular, has an excellent history in the manufacture of high quality, durable furniture. Because it's highly water-resistant, products made from it avoid the brittleness that many other woods are prone to.

This is why teak furniture — including our chess products — can be enjoyed outdoors as well as indoors, holding up in every season and weather.

We take special care to ensure the teak we use is completely dry and cured before it's carved, sourced through Perhutani, Indonesia's official forestry authority, which assures consistent, high quality material.
